MOT Testing
If your vehicle is 3 years or older you are required by law to have an annual safety check known as the Ministry Of Transport test, or MOT for short. The test ensures your car meets minimum safety requirements so that your car is safe for you and other road users. You can check the MOT due date of your vehicle on the GOV.UK website and also view the MOT history of a vehicle. The MOT can be performed at any time before the expiry date but the test will need to be performed within 1 month (minus one day) before it runs out to preserve your existing expiry date. For example, if your current MOT expires on the 15th May, the earliest you can take the test to preserve your renewal date is 16th April.
The MOT test itself consists of a comprehensive look over your vehicle by one of our technicians who is DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) qualified. The inspection covers interior and exterior checks, as well a brake efficiency and an emission test (not applicable to electric vehicles).
